Postdoc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry

CNRS Institute of Plant Molecular Biology

Our research team at CNRS Institute of Plant Molecular Biology (IBMP) in Strasbourg, France is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join us for a 2-year full-time appointment starting this summer 2017 or in fall. Our research focuses on the chloroplast genetic acclimation and the implication of RNA binding proteins in this process. Our institute is located on the main campus of Strasbourg University, a short distance from downtown and is equipped with state of the art facilities (f.e. Next generation sequencing, metabolomics, microscopy) and benefits from additional on campus facilities (f.e. proteomics). IBMP fosters plant scientists with multiple skills in biochemistry, virology, cellular biology, metabolomic and physiology covering various topics in organelle biology, gene expression, RNA biology, protein biochemistry, plant metabolomics and development.

Project Description: We are looking for a highly-motivated scientist to work on a project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Plant biology or related field. Ideal candidates have experience with Arabidopsis genetics (but not mandatory), molecular cloning and routine biochemical techniques and transcriptomics. Experiences with RNA binding protein biochemistry or posttranslational modifications i.e. phosphorylation are a real plus. Fluency in English or French is mandatory. Candidate must have a desire to learn, write manuscripts/reports/protocols, train students and be able to work independently. The applicant must be able to multitask and interested in contributing to several other ongoing projects in the lab.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
